Cherry royal

    Royal Cherry

    Scientific name: Prunus serotina

Common names: Cherry, Black Cherry, American Cherry

The royal qualifier refers to a particular selection of wood carefully matched in factory in order to produce a relatively uniform general aspect and is recommended especially for clear natural finishings. In this selection, all sap wood will not appear on the face of the cabinet door and although there might be some sap and pitch marks , there will be no pitch pockets.

Small tight knots are also acceptable.

Color: Heartwood varies from a light pinkish brown to a dark reddish brown  when freshly cut, darkening to a deeper golden brown with time and upon exposure to light. Sapwood is a pale yellowish color.

Very much appreciated for cabinet doors, furnitures and cabinetry because of its extraordinary finishing qualities.
